The X Shore electric E-boat is available in three different models;
- The open decked Eelex 6500 with a 6.5m hull capable of carrying up to 8 people.
- The Eelex 8000 at 8.5m with a capacity for 12 people.
- The recently launched Eeltrek 8000 which benefits an enclosed cabin and sleeping capacity.
Pricing starts at €225k for the base model so it’s not going to be for everyone. However running costs are said to be 1/10th the cost of gasoline; so huge savings to be had in the long-run.
The X Shore has a state-of-the-art hull design with ridges that put air between the boat and the water. This minimizes weight and resistance, thus reducing energy consumption by up to 35%.
Combined with a ground-breaking propulsion system; each boat can achieve up to 100 nautical miles at a steady 25 knots. They also have the ability to hit top speeds of up to 40 knots.
Each e-boat is fully customizable. A choice of two Battery Capacities (60kwh/ 120kwh), Hull colour (moss green/ coffee/ sand) and Deck finish (Teak/ Cork/ Aluminium). A range of bolt-on accessories and integrated furniture are also available.
The minimalist deck consists of a series of struts and rails offering flexible configuration. You can secure loads, fix down equipment and adjust, add or remove seating positions.
Konrad Bergström (X Shore Founder) trademarked the brand in 1996, so it’s fair to say it’s been in the pipeline for quite some time.
X Shore has recently raised over €1.5M in their latest funding round, giving a welcome boost to production for 2020. The boats are hand-crafted in Sweden and are available to buy globally.
